The many long and almost endless beaches that makes the Algarve coast so popular are reached by boat. The apartment is located only 400 meters from the ocean, in order to reach the beach transport by boat is necessary (the harbor is at 10 minutes walking distance). The boat takes you across the river strip that separate the main land and the ocean. Traditionally you reach the beaches with the fishermen’s boats, it is a nice, cheap and relaxing trip. There are also taxi boats available. Several fabulous beaches are to choose from with shallow warm water from Africa and the Mediterranean Sea, no big waves.

Here is Portugal’s finest and best market on Saturdays where you can find anything and nothing. The restaurants are affordable and genuine Portuguese. Make sure to try both the fishermen’s simple restaurants and the more exclusive ones. All seafood is caught daily. Do not miss the seafood restaurants in the neighboring village called Fuseta which are famous for being the best.
Take a tour to Faro, or a daytrips to Sevilla in Spain, or Moncarapacho the green oasis a bit further north where you will find a very beautiful and historic church from the 1700s, decorated with tiles in a typical Portuguese style.
