Surf

In Portugal along the west coast you will find some of the best surfing in Europe. The coast by Vimeiro, Santa Cruz, Ericeira or Carcavelos attracts many surfers all year around. Vimeiro

If you go to Portugal because of surfing Vimeiro is a good place to stay. You can surf at the beach more near the houses Santa Rita, Porto Novo and Santa Cruz is ranked as the 2:nd best beaches for surfing. The number one is called Ribeira 20 km south of Vimeiro. There some of the biggest surf competitions takes place. In Santa Cruz near by you find surfing school and renting of equipment.

Oeiras

Carcavelos is the surfers most central beach near Lisbon. The beach has surfing schools and renting of equipment. From the apartment in Oeiras you can walk here in 20 minutes, take the train one station.

Remember!

Some air flights takes extra fee for surfing board so remember to ask, sometimes 200 euros. Maybe it can be cheaper renting in the country.
