About Alentejo

East and South of Lisbon towards Spain one find the area that is called Alentejo. Cork oaks are decorating the light hilly nature and cows and sheep are eating calm in the shadows from the trees. The nature is like taken directly from a fairy tale. We travelled 160 km to this villa from Lisbon. It's January and it's so bright that one has to squint with the eyes. This place is magic, and as far from the city life and stress one can reach, this is peace for the soul! And light therapy, the sky feels endless in the wide open landscape. This isn't anything common that one can find in a normal tourist catalogue, for sure!

We are tried the traditional food and the portion for two are enough at least for one more person! And it's cheap. The cue outside the restaurant was growing, this restaurant is famous for the nice food...

Monte do Cabeço

A really beautiful traditional villa with huge land and olive tree plantation. Placed on top of a hill with amazing view. A small pool belongs to the house. The area of the house is about 60 square meters and the land are 3 hectares!

Two Bedrooms, one with double bed and one with two single also two extra mattress. A simple kitchen with gas cooker, (no oven). Bathroom with small bath tube. Washing machine, fireplace, furniture for outside, BBQ, TV with one channel, DVD. Heated during winter with fireplace and small warm air fans. There are 3 bikes available.

Lisbon 160 km. Nearest village with food store 6 km. Évora a famous tourist city 50 km. River and Dam to bath in 10 km. Restaurants 10 km.
