"(Sofie's note: could not resist to add up all this long story from guests who celebrated both Christmas and New Year Setubal!)
Bom dia! Yes, now we are home again after a very intense, wonderful, interesting, lively, fun, totally incomparable trip!
We had it really good. The apartment was super. Gloria and Rui met us at the entrance and it felt like Mom and Dad were waiting for us.
They helped us with the luggage and explained everything of importance and they had even bought a "Bolo Rei" and a bottle of port wine for us. We felt really welcome, even though the clock had turned after 24. Poor those who had to travel a long distance home at night.
The view from the apartment is really magnificent. We ate breakfast in the kitchen with his eyes on the Sado and the messy life below. In the evenings, it was certainly the right lively with the music and irritating jinglet from the fairgrounds, and untued with it, the music from the ice rink next door. But ... we had music with us, and on played it louder, if we at all were at home. The music stopped at midnight like that, and then continued the sirens from the nearby rescue station ... but it's a partial everyday life and frankly, we think it belongs.
Tourist office diagonally opposite is very service oriented, because when we asked for dolphin watching helped the nice girl with us to convey an excursion. However, it was no ordinary tourist safari without the owner of a giant catamaran was out with his kompisaroch stock of dolphins so she called us and asked if we'd like to come along, and on Christmas Eve. During the 5-hour journey, we learned everything and more about dolphins and Setubal and Portugal and, and, and. What nice people. We saw several gang of young and old dolphins and it was quite outrageously wonderful. - Must mention that we had the most wonderful weather you can wish for the season. Just sun and heat (well, locals froze and was packed as småjulklappar and after a while we did the same. Did not bother to switch to lighter clothing, but in winter jacket and boots ....)
If the table on the boat were even told that Thursdays were the Fado evening at one of the city a little different restaurants Passo Olivial and so we went there and enjoyed Fado in full. Though before we had met Celina and Alex to a very yummy dinner at ennärliggande pizzeria restaurant. As I already wrote to Celina, it felt as if we were already old friends. It was a pretty nasty funny feeling ...... And so they came even to the Fado evening and Celina sang two songs. What a voice. And not nogmed it so they invited us to celebrate nyårsaftom together with them in one place in Lisbon (Sou). A kind of cultural center.
The road there was a slight adventure because our map showed minor roads, so we parked the car in a parking garage on Avenida da Liberte, because the city was chock full with people and cars to celebrate the New Year. When we had wandered around for a while we went simply into a hotel and asked for help and the nice girl advised us to continue per pedes but called a taxi for us. The driver was in less good mood and with the help of his GPS, which apparently was not reliable, he drove like a car thief wildly swearing to the vicinity of the desired address. To ride the tram 28 was nothing compared to this little trip.
Celina played basically all night and the people danced and we danced and sang and met really nice people and ate and celebrated. But since we are no longer some youths came the time when we thought about how we would take us back to our bil.Medhjälp of all those helpful people we eventually got hold of a taxi that drove us in a somewhat slower pace back to the parking garage . Kl. 3 at night and throughout the Avenida teemed with people. I think I have never seen so many people so late at night on ettställe.
Oh, and during the first week, when we were out and rekogniserade the closer surroundings of Setubal, we went to Sesimbra and on to Capa Estoril. There was someone who managed, during the short time that we admired the amazing view, breaking up bilenoch steal both my bag and Kjell backpack out of the trunk. 100 m further along the road we found both the bag and backpack, but my cell phone and my money, and a bank card was gone. Everything else, such as driver's license and key to the apartment was left. Great relief. We were making about 3 hours at the police station in närmastbelägna Alfarim. There was a party in the village and while I tried to stop my phone and my debit card over the phone was the big fireworks outside. GNRs computer was extremely slow, hence the long wait. But they offered coffee and a lot of interesting information, so we did not think it was the right time consuming. The car left the same evening we returned to the rental at Lisbon airport and got to experience both bridges pånatten.
You know, would not it be fun to get together sometime, when you and Sergio have time? Then you simply with the children to us for refreshments or so and then continue our story of the journey .....
Hope you had a good Christmas and the new year has proved its best side.
hug from two grateful travelers
